A WELCOME LETTER FROM THE 5th NADC 2007 CONFERENCE CO-CHAIRPERSONS
On behalf of the Planning Committee, William Wong and Leyla Erol welcome all of you to the 5th NADC 2007 Conference to be held at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, California. As you may know, the 1st Asian Deaf 1994 Conference was held at the Holiday Inn of Chinatown in San Francisco. It was a big success! The following conferences were held in different cities: 2nd NADC 1997 Conference in Los Angeles, California; 3rd NADC 2000 Conference in Arlington, Virginia; and 4th NADC 2004 Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii. The conferees attended these conferences in order to broaden their knowledge of Asian Deaf culture, education, and empowerment.
The theme of the 5th NADC 2007 Conference is "1994-2007 Asian Deaf people: Harmony, Community, and Accomplishments". Our Asian Deaf and Hard of Hearing community is small. We have diverse ethnicities and educational backgrounds. There may be conflicts within our community. We need to live and work together in harmony. This theme will be the focus of the workshops at the 5th NADC 2007 Conference. These workshops will inspire all of us to become actively involved with our NADC chapters, affiliates, and collegiate chapters. In addition to the workshops, exciting programs will be offered: arts and crafts exhibits, professional organization displays, San Francisco Bay Area tours, social and cultural entertainment. Please check the 5th NADC 2007 Conference information updates (conference and hotel registration, call for papers, tours, program schedule, family program, and day care center) at this BAADA website, www.baada.org and www.nadc-usa.org.
We look forward to seeing all of you again at the 5th NADC 2007 Conference in San Francisco!
Regards, William W. Wong and Leyla Erol
